Y2MD is a project developped in PHP/MySQL for SSRs molecular markers developped from 4 yam species.
SSRs are repeated sequences from 1 to 6 nucleotides in tandem .
Users can select intra-specific polymorphic or cross-species markers .The location of all markers in the genome are provided allowing users to select SSRs in target genomic regions.
Some wet-lab validated SSR have been supplied.
insilico PCR tool to amplify and test new markers and the SSR Finder tool to search for SSR markers in costum nucleotide sequences.
Y2MD will be updated regulary with new tools, wet-lab validated SSRs and SSR data from newly sequenced genome from yams .
